CALCULATION OF MATERIAL IN 1CUM CONCRETE

Taking concrete 1cum(M20) Concrete ratio :- 1:1.5:3 1cum dry concrete = 1.54cum wet concrete So, Cement = 1.54*1/5.5 = 0.28cum Now 1cum cement = 1440kg So, 0.28 cum concrete = 1440*0.28 = 403 kg And sand :- 1.54*1.5/5.5 = 0.42cum Now 1cum = 35.32 cft So, 0.42cum = 35.32*0.42 = 14.83 cft Stone :- 1.54*3/5.5 = 0.84 = 0.84*35.32 = 29.67 cft.

1cum 250mm THICK BRICK WORK CALCULATION

1cum 250mm THICK BRICK WORK CALCULATION Brick size with mortar :- 250mm*125mm*75mm Volume of 1 brick with mortar:- 0.250*0.125*0.075 = 0.00234cum. Brick size with out mortar :- 240mm*115mm*65mm Volume of 1brick without mortar :- 0.240*0.115*0.065 = 0.00179. Nos of brick in 1cum with mortar:- 1/0.00234 = 427.4 = 427 Volume of 427nos brick without mortar:- 427*0.00179 = 0.76 cum Required of cement mortar :- 1-0.76 = 0.24cum. Now Dry volume of mortar :- 0.24*1.33 = 0.32 cum We know the mortar ratio :- 1:6 So, Cement :- 0.32*1/7*1440 kg = 65.8 = 66 kg Sand :- 0.32*6/7 cum = 0.27 cum.

Strength Of Brick Masonry

The strength of brick masonry mainly depends on the strength of bricks that are used in the construction. The strength of bricks depends on the soil used to make the bricks, method and making process, burning of bricks. Since the nature of the soil varies from region to region, the average strength of bricks also varies from region to region. The permissible compressive stress of brick masonry depend upon several factors such as, 1. Type of bricks (1st class, 2nd class, 3rd class) 2. Strength of bricks 3. Size and shape of the masonry construction. 4. Mix of mortar. 5. uniformity of bricks 6. Workmanship. 7. The method adopted for laying bricks. There are some useful checklists which can be applied to increase the strength of brick masonry. 1 Visual check – The bricks to be used should be good quality, burnt well with uniform shape, size, and color. 2 A metallic ringing sound should be produced when striking two bricks with each other. 3 A good quali...

Classification of Brick

There are different types of bricks available on the market used for various kinds of purposes. These bricks can be categorized under various headings and subheadings on different basis. The various classifications of types of bricks are briefly discussed below. A. Classification based on method of manufacturing Bricks can broadly be categorized into two types as follows on the basis of how its manufactured: 1.     Unburnt or sun-dried bricks 2.     Burnt bricks 1. Unburnt bricks or sun-dried bricks Unburnt bricks or sun-dried bricks are the types which are dried with the help of heat received from sun after the process of moulding. These bricks can only be used in the construction of temporary and cheap structures. Such bricks should not be used at places exposed to heavy rains. 2. Burnt Bricks Burnt bricks are prepared by burning the brick-mould in the kiln inside the factory. These are th...
